MEMBERSHIP & ELIGIBILITY

Who is eligible to join?

The Rho Nu Chapter serves as the designated chapter for aspirants studying at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Harvard College, Tufts University, and Babson College. Aspirants must be full-time undergraduate students.

Can I join a different chapter than PN?

If you are an undergraduate student studying at MIT, Harvard, Tufts, or Babson you may only join through the Rho Nu Chapter. All college graduates are eligible for membership at one of our alumni chapters.

Is there a GPA Requirement?

The national GPA requirement for eligibility is a 2.5 on a 4.0 scale. The Rho Nu Chapter seeks aspirants holding a minimum of 3.0, but may make exceptions for extraordinary circumstances.

Is Alpha Phi Alpha only for Black men?

Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.® does not discriminate against aspirants due to religion, race, or creed. Alpha has been interracial since 1945, and accepts all male-identifying individuals.

How do I go about joining?

In Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.® the “fraternity” comes first. It is important to be well research on the organization, be an active participant in Rho Nu Chapter events, and build relationships with current undergraduate members.
